10% Less Mediocrity - Football Edition
Here on 1914 Reader, we talk about the idea of 10% Less Mediocrity a fair bit. The idea being that a 10% improvement in a number of the indicators that make life difficult for Nigerians will be enough to make the country unrecognisable from what it is today. You don’t need to fix everything - just 10% improvement at a time is more than enough.
The tolerance for mediocrity is one such example. Here is a photo from Enyimba Football Club’s match this past Sunday against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the African Football League competition.
They lost the game to a 39th minute penalty with the return leg scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday 25th) in Casablanca. It may be too much to ask them to win away in Morocco and the tie overall.
But is 10% less mediocrity on their football jerseys too much to ask?
